摘要
The features of gas jet flows in the course of oxygen gas-laser cutting of thick-sheet steels were studied by employing experimental and numerical-simulation methods under laboratory conditions and applying visualization and rapid filming. The registration of gas jet flows in narrow slit channels geometrically comparable with those of laser cuts was studied under laboratory conditions. The gas jet flows in the vicinity of the cut front inside the laser slit was calculated by choosing a region 30×20×50 mm in size with gas-penetrable walls. The formation of the unsteady vortex is observed in the lower part of the channel, which is caused by the inflow, and the involvement of the surrounding gas, are observed. The critical pressure is found to depend on the pressure in the central nozzle, while for the steel sheets 15 mm thick, the effect of the peripheral nozzle begins to manifest.
