摘要:
The Awards for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest recognize persons who have advanced psychology as a science and/or profession by a single extraordinary achievement or a lifetime of outstanding contributions in the public interest. Two awards are given: one to a senior psychologist and a second to a psychologist who has made a significant contribution to the public interest in the early stages of their career. Cynthia J. Najdowski is a most impressive early career scholar and most deserving of the APA Award for Distinguished Early Career Contributions to Psychology in the Public Interest. Her three main programs of research tackle important psychological issues, including race-based biases and their relation to miscarriages of justice; the actual and perceived abilities of juvenile offenders; and issues relevant to abuse, trauma, and victimization. Of importance, Dr. Najdowski works diligently to ensure that her and others' research realizes its many practice and policy applications and to mentor the next generation of scholars in advancing psychology in the public interest.
