Visual optical devices for manned spacecraft

The concepts and design of visual optical devices for Russian manned spacecraft (MSG) are considered. The results of cosmonauts' work with the devices under space-flight conditions are briefly discussed. Design of US visual devices intended for space applications is briefly reviewed. Conclusions are reached about prospects of applications of the visual devices for solving optical problems in Earth-satellite orbits. (C) 1997 The Optical Society of America.
