摘要
Two reflection free absorbing boundary conditions, Transparent Absorbing Boundary (TAB) and Perfectly Matched Layers (PML), are hybridized to truncate a three-dimensional (3D) FDTD (Finite Difference Time Domain) grid. The TAB allows the field absorption to take place inside the domain of interest so that the magnitude of fields becomes very small when they reach the PML. Few layers of PML are then needed to terminate the computational domain. Such a hybrid application minimizes the computer memory requirement. Numerical results are presented in the paper, along with discussions on issues such as computational efficiency and numerical dispersion.
