Comparison of testing methods for characterization of textile hand

摘要
A comparison is given of two testing methods for pulling a specimen fixedly clamped in a clamp (constrained pulling) and freely placed in a space between two limiting plates (unrestrained pulling) through a rounded hole. The circular specimens cut from five knitted fabrics differing in fiber and geometrical compositions were pulled through the hole of KTU-Griff-Tester. The results obtained have shown that the constrained pulling is more suitable than the unrestrained pulling for simple and reliable characterization of textile hand, anisotropy and other mechanical properties.
