C-13 MAS NMR have been performed in situ to investigate the mechanism of n-hexane conversion over Pt/alumina, Pt/ceria and Pt/ceria-alumina composite oxides, prepared by laser assisted Pt deposition. n-Hexane conversion was studied at 653 K. n-Hexane 1-C-13 was used as the labelled reactant. The attention was focused on the elucidation of the role of the support on the mechanism of n-hexane transformations. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
