摘要
The rapid reduction of fossil fuel resources and environmental problem such as global warming has given consciousness on generation of renewable energy resources. Among the all renewable resources, wind energy is one of the prospective clean energy resources to provide reliable power supply with improved system efficiency. Wind turbine output is proportional to the cube of wind speed. On the other hand, wind penetration levels on power systems increase worldwide. So, it is essential for power system engineers to control the frequency as well as power as the characteristics of different types of governor control system models are also different. Therefore, this study investigates the influences of different types of governor control system models of synchronous generators (SGs). It is seen that synchronous generator with thermal governor control system of governor free mode perform better frequency control and wind generator capacity can increase up to 20% of total capacity by maintaining the frequency within acceptable limit. Similarly, it is also investigated that when several interrelated SGs are operated with different governor control models, system frequency become severe for 20% capacity of wind generator. Real wind speed data have been considered for this study. PSCAD/EMTDC software is used for simulation analyses.
