Whispering Gallery Mode Laser Based on a Self-Assembled Organic Octahedron Microcrystal Microresonator

摘要
The six lateral faces of octahedron microcrystals (OhMCs) self-assemble from 1,4-dimethoxy-2,5-di[4'-dimethylaminostyryl] benzene (DASB), constituting a high-quality whispering gallery mode cavity. The optimized energy level of H-aggregates and the high-quality radial cavity of the OhMC leads to a lasing threshold as low as 6.9 mu J/cm(2). Moreover, single-mode lasing is observed from OhMCs with small volumes, making them attractive for practical application in on-chip laser spectroscopy.
