"ATTACK OF POETRY" - DIVERSITY ON THE CROATIAN POETICAL SCENE IN 1938

The paper aims to perform a synthetic overview of ten poetry collections published by the Subcommittee of Matica hrvatska (Central Croatian Cultural and Publishing Society) in 1938, as well as to highlight poetical difference among them. Special attention is given to the cathegory of the subject of lyrical enunciation. Examples drawn from the attack of poetry poems illustrate typical characteristics of the subject of enunciation within the analytical triangle encompassing the relation of subject to reader and reader's taste, the relation of subject to the fictional world around him with whom he establishes primarily visual connection, and finally the relation of subject to the image he has of himself.
