摘要
With smart grids being developed world-wide in the power industry, more and more renewable energy resources are connected into power grids. Renewable energy resources are intermittent in nature. This paper proposes indexes that measure the intermittency of renewable energy resources. The indexes are defined based on the dynamic simulation results on the system where the renewable energy resources are connected. The indexes give system operators a sense that how intermittent a renewable energy resource is. They also can be used as the requirements regulating connection of renewable energy resources. Field wind farm and solar panel generation data are used to calculate the indexes. Results are discussed and conclusions are made.
