摘要
A study of the nature of God in John Duns Scotus (d. 1306) and in Geoffrey Chaucer (d. 1400), focusing primarily on Chaucer's Man of Law's Tale and the Clerk's Tale. The study gives special attention to the limitless and free nature of God's will as developed in Scotus, and to the ways in which that understanding informs both human action and the destiny of persons in Chaucer's tales.
