Spa and wellness industry challenges: The perspectives of industry provider

The spa and wellness industry has become one of the main contributors of tourist arrival in the country. In order to sustain the business it is important to identify the challenges for future sustainability. This paper views the industry in Malaysia focusing on the challenges faced by the service providers especially in the Kuala Lumpur area. The paper aims to explore the current development of spa businesses in Malaysia, to identify the challenges faced by the spa and wellness providers, and to understand to the extent these chal lenges affect the growth of spa businesses in Malaysia.
