摘要
The quality control of pasture and animal feeding is strategic to garantee the milk and beef production sucess. This study aims to evaluate the economical, social and environmental effects of microwaves use to determine dry matter and moisture of soil and plant samples. This method is an alternative to the conventional use of oven. The results indicate 69% of cost reduction in the lab sample analysis, when used the alternative method, as well as social and environmental positive effects. The benefits verified in the farms were the speed of results, easiness of method use and the supply of an adequate animal feeding. The silage supplied in the correct levels of dry matter (35%) increased 9,2% the milk production/animal/day, resulting in the unit earnings of R$1,06.
