摘要
The magnetic properties of Sm-5(Fe1-xTx)(17) (T=Ti and V) have been investigated using Fe-57 Mossbauer spectroscopy and the magnetization measurement. Those compounds have the hexagonal Nd5Fe17 structure with space group P6(3)/mcm and have 12 formula units with a total of 264 atoms per unit cell and are ordered magnetically. The saturation magnetization for Sm5Fe17 is 25.0 mu(B)/f.u. at room temperature and increased for 0 <= x <= 0.05 and decreased in Sm-5(Fe1-xTx)(17) (T=Ti and V) with increasing T content. The Curie temperature for Sm5Fe17 is 416 K and increased largely with increasing T content. The weighted average Fe-57 hyperfine fields are 209 and 216 kOe at room temperature and the corresponding average Fe moments are 1.39 and 1.44 mu(B) for x = 0 and 0.09 in Sm-5(Fe1-xTix)(17), respectively.
