A new species of the Longibrachiatum Clade of Trichoderma (Hypocreaceae) from Northeast China

摘要
Using combined analyses of morphological data, culture characters and molecular phylogeny, Trichoderma flavescens, discovered in northeast China, is described and illustrated as a new species. It is characterized by light to dark brown stromata with yellow crystals on the surface, mostly monomorphic hyaline part-ascospores, dense conidiogenous pustules and yellowish pigment at 35 degrees C on PDA. The species belongs to the Longibrachiatum lineage and differs from T. kunigamense by smaller conidia, rare intercalary phialides and faster growth. Differences between the new species and its close relatives are discussed, and its phylogenetic position based on rpb2 and tef1-alpha sequences is explored.
