The Ce-Ni system was critically assessed by means of the CALculation of PHAse Diagram (CALPHAD) technique. The solution phases (liquid, body-centred cubic (bcc) or face-centred cubic (fcc)) were modeled with the Redlich-Kister equation. The intermetallic compounds Ce7Ni3, CeNi, CeNi2, CeNi3, Ce2Ni7, and CeNi5 Were treated as stoichiometric compounds. A set of self-consistent thermodynamic parameters of the Ce-Ni system was obtained.
