摘要
Experimental study of impinging plug nozzle jet using a vortex generator was demonstrated in a study. The reported impinging jet experiments were carried out using a freejet test facility with the plug nozzle of the truncated base configuration, and a circular tab was attached to its base. The results of the experimental campaign from flowfield visualization and pressure measurements made on the impinging surface were presented. The plug nozzle made of brass material was designed for a Mach number of 1.8 is fitted via a flange at the end of the settling chamber. For the present set of experiments, the plug was truncated to 50% of the length. The results from these experiments served as the baseline data to assess the performance of the control technique. Similar experiments were repeated with the inclusion of a circular tab vortex generator 1 mm thick and 11.6 mm in diameter mounted at the base of the plug surface.
