摘要
Peridynamic is applied to construct the mesh-free composite models for predicting mechanical responses of the particle reinforced metal matrix composites in this work. The effects of varying particle shapes and the interface properties on the mechanical properties and fracturing behaviors of the composite are considered individually. In addition to the numerical results (stress-strain relations), various distributed nephograms such as stress state and damage during the simulations are captured for analyzing detailedly. The results show that the particle shape strongly influences the concentrated stress state, eventually affecting the fracturing properties. Furthermore, the dominant failure mode may change by modifying the particle angle, two fracture ways can be observed correspondingly. Besides, the failure mode can also be controlled by regulating the interface strength. When the interface getting enhanced, the failure mode will transform from the interface debonding into the ductile fracture of the metal matrix gradually.
