Identification of CLPG gene polymorphism using PCR-RFLP of Iraq and Belarus population sheep breeds

摘要
Ameliorating meat quality is what sheep industry's demands which requires a full knowledge about meat coding genes. CLPG gene is computed to be a strong marker for meat quality amelioration, thus, the aim of our study is the identification of CLPG gene polymorphism using PCR-RFLP method on Iraq and Belarus population sheep breeds. The FaqI was used to digest the PCR product. As result the genotype frequency for the observed patterns was 0.61, 0.29, 0.1 for the AA, AG and GG for the CLPG gene respectively. As a conclusion the PCR-RFLP can be considerate as an efficient tool for genetic variant identification where the obtained results indicate that the total population of sheep was monomorphic for CLPG gene.
