摘要
The aim of this research inheres in perceiving the social and environmental aspects within the hotel industry and in the amplification of the intents for practicing the corporate social responsibility in Romania. This study reports on the results of the survey conducted inside Romanian hotel companies, its upshot revealing the perceptions of hotel companies on corporate social responsibility initiatives and the influence of various environmental management and total quality management practices on financial performance, expressed by the average annual occupancy, on a test group of hotels in Romania. The influence connection is empirically tested. Results indicate that the relation is statistically essential, yet not all environmental management and total quality management practices do positively impinge on the occupancy rate. We regard as apposite the approach of promoting these practices within the current Romanian economic environment, through building the corporate management as based on environmental and social elements, that will allow the development of a framework for implementing the environmental and quality management in Romanian hotels, in the context of taking on corporate social responsibility.
