In vitro susceptibility and clinical effect of the combination amoxicillin, clavulanic acid and Prednisolone (Synulox® LC Plus) in the intramammary mastitis therapy

Synulox (R) LC Plus (Zoetis Germany GmbH, Berlin) is the fixed combination of 200 mg amoxicillin, 50 mg clavulanic acid and 10 mg prednisolone. The intramammary injector is indicated for the treatment of bovine clinical mastitis. Data dien mit induzierter Mastitis (S. uberis-bzw. S. aureus-lnokulation) wurden bei 10 HF Milchkuhen zwei Behandlungsgruppen gebildet ("Amoxicillin und Clavulansaure" und "Amoxicillin und Clavulansaure plus Prednisolon"). Die Studie und deren Auswertung liefen als Blindversuch. Die 10 mg Prednisolon ermoglichen eine signifikante Verbesserung der untersuchten Parameter (Euterschwellung, Euterinduration) zwei, vier und sechs Stunden nach einmaliger; Behandlung. Die Milchbeschaffenheit und das klinische Erscheinungsbild werden ebenfalls durch 10 mg Prednisolon positiv und signifikant beeinflusst (Stunde 24 nach Behandlung).
