Analysis of feasibility of floor radiant cooling system combined with displacement ventilation

Along with the rapid popularization of radiant floor heating, the feasibility of radiant floor cooling is strongly interested. This paper analyses its merits and limits, and puts forward that the combination of radiant floor cooling and displacement ventilation could exert both of their merits. As the heat transfer between the floor and space in floor cooling system is mostly in the form of radiation, the indoor temperature field distribution is even. But its cooling capacity is limited by the dew point of the air in the space. The dry air layer near the floor formed by displacement ventilation system can effectively prevent drew on the surface of the floor in summer, and increase its cooling capacity. This hybrid system can provide a high standard of thermal comfort and indoor air quality in higher cooling load. Furthermore, it also can provide many energy conservation possibilities. In addition, this paper discusses the feasibility of floor cooling system with a combination of displacement ventilation in summer.
