摘要
To verify the reliability of the computation of vulnerability area tool (COVART) model and identify its limitations, COVART vulnerability analysis and live fire test and evaluation (LFT&E) were conducted on an electronic control unit. The COVART vulnerability analysis using the COVART model was performed in six directions against 7.62 mm, 12.7 mm, and 23 mm API ammunitions. We assumed that the two electronic circuit boards inside the electronic control unit were critical components that affected the functional fault directly. In the LFT&E, V50 testing was conducted to determine the velocity at which a projectile is expected to penetrate the electronic control unit. When we compared the vulnerability results obtained using the COVART and the LFT&E, it was found that the two methods yielded very similar V50 ballistic velocities.
