摘要
Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) and Mobile Health(M-Health, namely e-health or wearable health) monitoring system have become more than just buzzwords in recent years. This paper reviews the state-of-art WBAN channel and addresses wireless communication chip design challenges for M-Health system. Current available wireless communication standards have been proved in the paper that they can hard to support for M-Health applications. A survey on body-centric channel characteristics and its simulation result show that Ultra Wideband (UWB) is an ideal candidate to meet the stringent requirement of WBAN system. Also, a UWB transceiver framework suitable for M-Health system is designed which can be used as a guide for integrated circuit design in future works.
