摘要
Leadership and SME (Small Medium Enterprise) often considered as the anchor to a successful business performance. Notwithstanding the importance of effective financial risk management, SME continue to grow and survive in the competitive market worldwide. Previous literature confers owner's characteristics and demographic factors as part of Leadership. None of them discuss in terms of information communication and technology (ICT) as elements for SME Leadership. As such, this paper aims to look into SME Leadership towards business success with Entrepreneurial Event Model (EEM) by Shapero (1982). EEM denotes the entrepreneur's intention in business and how exactly it shape SME development. The critical discussion provided in this paper would strengthen the body of knowledge on SME leadership, besides to act as a reference for empirical research. By focusing on previous studies, this paper review SME leadership and ICT, summary of business success, consider EEM for SME and provide recommendations for future research.
