Electrical resistivity and thermopower of Gd2Cu9 and Dy2Cu9

摘要
The electrical resistivity and absolute thermopower of the intermetallic compounds Dy2Cu9 and Gd2Cu9 have been investigated between 1.2 and 300 K. These two compounds appear to be isostructural to the heavy fermion compound Yb2Cu9, i.e. crystallize in a superstructure derived from the AuBe5 structure type. Their high residual resistivity can be ascribed to this peculiar structure. Signs of magnetic order have been found at low temperature by both electrical resistivity and thermopower measurements, and have been confirmed by a magnetic measurement.
