摘要
Continuing research in nickel metal hydride batteries still focuses on the search for better materials for the hydriding/dehydriding electrode. There is also a need for a basic understanding of the role of the constituent elements in the hydriding/dehydriding alloys. This paper presents the results of investigation on four new alloys of AB(2) type which were selected for the purpose of yielding a better understanding of the role of element substitution in the B component of the alloy. In these alloys the A component contained the extensively investigated Ti Zr system. The effects of substitutions in the B component and of coatings on the capacity, cycle life, and rate capability were determined.
