High-temperature magnetization in Y1-xCaxMnO3

摘要
We have studied the T dependence of the susceptibility, chi(T), in the paramagnetic phase of the distorted perovskite series Y1-xCaxMnO3. We have observed different regimes depending on the level of doping. For x similar to 0 and 1 we found a localized behavior for the e(g) electrons and a delocalized one for intermediate doping (0.2 < x <= 0.8). For the delocalized regime we present a mean-field description for chi(T) that includes the interaction between localized and itinerant e(g) electrons. We compare our results with the less distorted series La1-xCaxMnO3. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
