摘要
Vocabulary is one of three main factors of language, which plays a vital role in people's communication and language learning. The traditional English vocabulary teaching is that teachers teach words with the explanation, which lacks the inherent connection between items and cannot, provide language learners with a systematic way of comprehending, memorizing and applying vocabulary. This paper, applying conceptual metaphors as an approach into vocabulary teaching, attempts to testify whether the application of conceptual metaphor theory to the vocabulary teaching can promote the English learning of the students.
