Distributed intelligent load control of autonomous renewable energy systems

摘要
Autonomous renewable energy systems such as wind powered networks experience real time variations of input energy and load, and therefore control methods are required to maintain stability and achieve maximum penetration from the wind resource. This paper describes the application of distributed load control using a novel frequency and voltage-sensing device. Intelligent load switching decisions are made using measurement and fuzzy control algorithms embedded in a low cost micro-controller. The results of tests carried out on an isolated network powered by a 60kW, 3 phase, 50Hz wind turbine, are also presented.
