摘要
To appreciate the new developments in X-ray optics a good understanding of the established foundations of the subject is required. This discourse starts with a substantial introduction to the basic physics of the interaction of X rays with matter, X-ray dispersion theory, reflection, transmission and scattering of mirrors, multi-layers, crystals and gratings. In the light of this the geometries used for X-ray imaging and spectroscopy are described. Finally the latest developments of such optics for use in X-ray astronomy are reviewed.
