Contributions of new research on juvenile delinquency to the prevention and treatment of antisocial behavior: Comment

The authors comment on D. Gorman-Smith, P. H. Tolan, A. Zelli, and L. R. Huesmann's (1996) article and argue that the article builds on recent advances in juvenile delinquency research. This research provides a sound foundation for making progress toward the goals of (a) understanding diverse patterns of nonviolent and violent antisocial behavior over time, (b) integrating developmental theories with knowledge about risk variables associated with antisocial behavior, and (c) bridging the gap between research and policy.
