Students' perceptions of an effective teacher: an investigation at ADFA

摘要
This paper explores the relationship between students' overall rating of teaching effectiveness and their perceptions of different aspects of the subject and its teaching. The data for the study are from student survey responses for three classes at ADFA. The items analysed were those from the standard teaching evaluation instrument used at ADFA, and additional items relating to workload and interest in the subject matter. Correlation and regression analyses were carried out to explore the linkages between students' responses to these items. The findings focus on determining which components of teaching most influenced students in their overall global rating of teacher effectiveness.
