摘要：
The key for medical image registration based on mutual information is how to solve the problem of local extremum for MI function. The reasons that local extremum produced with interpolation and optimization algorithm are analyzed first. Then a new method of using low-pass filter preprocessing based on Gaussian Low-pass Filters is presented to decrease the number of local extremum. The experiment results show that the curve of MI function is smooth and local extremum are eliminated to a great extent by using low-pass filter preprocessing.
