摘要
In order to assess the effect of Spicaria violacea fungus together with its metabolites as well as the metabolites themselves on the liver morphological image of Wistar rats, the experimental animals were fed diets contaminated with different levels of the above-mentioned fungus. Experiments were conducted in either thirty-day or three-month cycles and the experimental animals were divided into 3 groups of 8 animals respectively. Each group was fed diets contaminated with the experimental fungus which was intoxicated to varying degrees. Appropriate control groups were also devised. Morphological changes were determined in the livers of the experimental animals at the termination of the experiment. Generally speaking, histopathological changes observed in the experimental rats fed diets contaminated with Spicaria violacea fungus were slight and were restricted mainly to an increase in the amount of Browicz-Kupfer cells and to the infiltration of single-nucleus lymphocytes and phagocytes. This prompted the conclusion that Spicaria violacea fungus induces the production of toxins and can be harmful to both animals and humans.
