摘要
We are reporting an atypical clinical presentation of Trichophyton rubrum dermatophytosis during immunosuppression. A 59-year-old patient receiving immunosuppressive chemotherapy developed cutaneous lesions, in the inguinal folds and the pubis, described as erythematic-purplish nodules. Mycelium on histopathology led to the diagnosis of deep cutaneous mycosis. The final diagnosis is a T. rubrum abscess because of T. rubrum on biopsy culture. The administration of antifungals by oral route associated with the immunity restoration allowed the therapeutic success of this dermatophytosis. (C) 2008 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
