EPR and magnetic investigations of copper ions in 2B2O3 • AS2O3 glass matrix

摘要
The results obtained by paramagnetic electron resonance (EPR) and magnetic susceptibility on the xCuO (.) (100-x) [2B(2)O(3) (.) As2O3] glasses with 0 < x less than or equal to 30 mol%, are reported. From the EPR absorption spectra octahedral axially distorted environments of the Cu2+ ions were detected. Both EPR and magnetical data reveals at samples with x > 15 mol% the presence of copper ions as Cu+ and Cu2+ species. No superexchange interactions between copper ions were revealed.
