A variety of aromatics compounds substituted with methoxy or methyl groups were regioselectively iodinated with N-iodosuccinimide and catalytic trifluoroacetic acid with excellent yields under mild conditions and short reaction times. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
