Data Migration and DataSpace support platform: Similarities and differences

Data Integration becomes a very hot topic nowadays. There are today some very relevant challenges regarding mentioned topic, like - increasing volumes, data timeliness and heterogeneous data from different sources. Data Integration including Data Migration tries to solve a problem by introducing as few data sources and systems as possible instead of many legacy systems. A new abstraction for Data Management, like DataSpace and DataSpace Support Platform, proposes more of a data co-existence instead. A goal of this topic is to find the common/similar activity areas of both concepts to see what research efforts could give a positive outcome for both of them.
