摘要
Beside statistical approaches to classify psychiatric disorders artificial intelligence methods have also valuable impact and contribution to the field. Since artificial intelligence approach requires engineering perspective competence to handle the combination of multiple methods covering feature extraction, selection, feature reduction and classification approach, statistical approach is vital to work with the dataset. In our study, a dataset comprising of cordance values of 71 subjects suffering from major depressive disorder is used. The pretreatment, repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), EEG cordance values are used to put forward the hypothesis that pre-treatment biomarker values are valuable to predict the treatment response using t-test method. The promising results underline that it is worth employing statistical methods prior to the artificial intelligence methods.
