Iodine-Catalyzed Synthesis of Cyclopenta[c]quinoline Derivatives via Imino Diels-Alder Reaction

摘要：
A mild and efficient method for the synthesis of cyclopenta[c]naphtho[2,3-f]quinoline and cyclopenta[c]pyrazolo[4,3-f]quinoline derivatives via an imino Diels-Alder reaction of aromatic aldehyde, anthracen-2-amine, or 1H-indazol-5-amine and cyclopentanone catalyzed by iodine is described. This novel procedure has the advantages of mild reaction condition, high yields, and metal-free catalyst.
