摘要
This research is focused on the improvement of bio-semiconductor using lattice modification via the use of zinc as dopant. Zinc coated Syzygium samarangense extracts was synthesized as the proposed biosemiconductor. The plant extraction was carried-out using three solutions i.e. butanol, methanol and ethanol. The characterization was carried out by UV-Vis spectroscopy. The bandgap of sample 1 (extract in methanol solution), sample 2 (extract in ethanol solution) and sample 3 (extract in butanol solution) was calculated as 1.91 eV, 1.76 eV and 1.78 eV respectively. The statistical correlation coefficients between the three samples are given as sample 1 = 0.952, sample 2 = 0.9157, and sample 3 = 0.945. It was revealed that the solutions used for the extraction of sample 2 and 3 have significant influence on the chemical reaction and result outcome. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
