摘要
We described a patient presenting with acute myocardial infarction after sustaining a hymenoptera (bee) sting. Cardiac catheterisation confirmed significant intra-coronary thrombosis in the left anterior descending artery with minimal underlying plaque disease. A unifying diagnosis of Kounis syndrome secondary to hymenoptera envenomation was made. This is followed by a brief review of the pathophysiology of acute myocardial infarction in the context of Kounis syndrome. (C) 2008 Elsevier Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.
