A group reset method for energy-efficient SAR ADC switching schemes

摘要
By investigating some recently reported switching schemes for successive approximation register (SAR) analogue-to-digital converter, it is found that the reset energy is several times than the switching energy, which significantly reduces the overall energy-efficiency of these switching schemes. In this paper, a simple group reset method is proposed. By grouping capacitors into different groups during the resetting and sampling phase, the reset energy is eliminated, which significantly improves the overall energy-efficiency of SAR ADC.
