摘要
In this analysis we attempt to constrain various facets of the theoretical framework that gives rise to Type I (compact merger) gamma-ray bursts (GRBs) utilizing Monte Carlo simulations. We are interested in testing, specifically, the luminosity function, rate, merger timescale distribution, and host galaxy type and offset of Type I GRBs with one comprehensive Monte Carlo code. The results from these simulations can then be compared to current observations, with consistency being tested from various constraints including the I D luminosity and redshift distribution, 2D L-z distribution, Swift and BATSE logN(>P) - log P distribution, and host galaxy type and offset data.
