摘要
The University of Michigan Digital Library (UMDL) Project provides guidelines and design standards for teaching and learning materials and methods to support science inquiry using on-line resources. In this paper, we present an initial report of our experiences using on-line resources to promote sustained inquiry in science classrooms. We examine the challenges faced by teachers and students as well as the challenges posed in creating or finding useful content and in designing the technological tools for students to investigate meaningful questions on-line.
