摘要
Alcohol consumption is a risk to the health of women. There are risk factors that increase their vulnerability to consumption, such as continuous relationship conflicts, separation, stress, alcohol consumption of the couple and codependency. Objective: To determine the relation between codependency in the relationship and alcohol consumption in women. Method: this is a descriptive, correlational study, in 197 women attending health clinics consultation of Monterrey, NL. Mexico. Results: 39.9% of participants presented codependency in relationship; regarding the types of alcohol consumption (AUDIT), 63% of women report sensible consumption, 19.3% dependent consumption and 17.7% harmful consumption. Relationship of codependency in relation of and alcohol consumption in women (r(s)= .348, p < .001) was found. Discussion and Conclusions: the higher codependency in relationships, higher alcohol consumption in woman.
