摘要
The main purpose of this preliminary study is to investigate the influence of the five specific dimensions of religiosity on the preference for Shariah-Compliant Hotels in the context of Malaysia. This study involving 200 respondents used questionnaire survey as the main method of data collection. The population of this study is the Malay Muslims who are considered as frequent hotel guests. The results of the multiple regression analysis indicated that out of the five dimensions, only two namely Consequential and Ideological Dimensions help predict the preference towards Shariah-Compliant hotels significantly. Attributes related to these two aspects need to be emphasized or highlighted in the brand positioning strategies for the halal hotels in the Malaysian context.
