THE GEOGRAPHY OF VALENCIAN BAROQUE SGRAFFITO. A CONTEMPORARY LANDSCAPE OF LIGHTS AND SHADOWS

As well as presenting an up-to-date field study locating sgraffito decoration in Valencian Baroque architecture, primarily of a religious nature, which is present from the first third of the 17th century to the early 18th century, we once again emphasise the lack of research on the impact of sgraffito during the aforementioned period, its undervaluation as a result of ignorance of its function, meaning and technique, and above all, the current threats to its preservation and enhancement.
