摘要
The purpose of this study is to prepare a liquefaction potential map using geographical information systems (GIS) and geotechnical data. The study area is the Saitama city the capital city of Saitama prefecture Japan. The study model includes depth, type and properties of soil, depth of ground water table, N-value and geology of the area. For the study of liquefaction potential the N-value is corrected by using empirical formula. Different layers maps of the influenced factors were prepared by using GIS. The final liquefaction potential map were prepared by combining all the layers. The liquefaction potential map prepared from this study shows the south west part of the study area is very high vulnerable to liquefaction then the north and north east part of the study area.
